Tree knocks down power line, leaving 2,500 without power in Garner

August 7, 2018

More than 2,500 customers were without power Tuesday morning in Garner, according to Duke Energy.

At 6 a.m. Duke Energy’s outage map showed 2,716 customers in the dark in the area of Vandora Springs Road. By 7 a.m., power had been restored to 1,300 customers, and by 8 a.m., only 500 were without power.

The outage is due to a tree that knocked down a power line near Garner County Club on Old Stage Road, Duke Energy crews said.

Traffic lights at Vandora Springs Road and Timber Drive were temporarily out.

Crews estimate that power will be restored to all by 10:15 a.m.
