Cleveland man stabbed in chest in West Boulevard neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland man was stabbed twice in the chest during a fight early Sunday in the city’s West Boulevard neighborhood.

The 31-year-old man suffered serious injuries in the stabbing that happened about 3 a.m. on West 88th Street near Brinsmade Avenue, according to a police report. Cleveland EMS took him to MetroHealth for treatment.

No arrests have been made in the case, police said.

Police went to the neighborhood to investigate a report of a large fight, but the fight ended before they arrived. Officers found blood spatters on the ground, the police report says.

Officers learned the man’s brother drove him back to a home on West 126th Street near Lorain Avenue. They went there and found the man wrapped in a blanket on a porch.

The man was conscious but could not provide any information about the stabbing, the police report says.

The man’s brother said they went to a relative’s home earlier that night. The brother was inside the relative’s home when the 31-year-old man called him and asked him to come outside.

The brother found the 31-year-old man lying in the front yard and holding his chest. There was blood on his clothes, the police report says.

Investigators smelled alcohol on the breaths of the man and his brother, the police report says.
