Police: Man confessed to killing wife, directed them to body
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) — Police say a Mississippi man has confessed to killing his wife and told investigators her body was in a wooded area on land owned by his family.
Local news outlets report Paul Seward was charged with murder, with a Vicksburg city judge setting bail Friday at $750,000.
It’s unclear is Seward has a lawyer.
The 52-year-old is charged with killing 33-year-old Kacey Miles. Her body was found in Warren County Wednesday after she’d been missing for two days. An autopsy will determine how she died.
Vicksburg Police Sgt. Curtis Judge says family and friends told investigators that the couple had been having marital problems.
Steward was taken into custody on Wednesday and remains jailed in Warren County.
Child welfare authorities are deciding how to care for the couple’s four-year-old son.
