SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A Beverly Hills, Illinois, woman is the state fair's champion husband-caller.

Cheryl O'Reilly was a first-time participant in the popular contest Sunday in Springfield.

She says her award-winning style is the one she uses at home. Her husband, Frank, says, "I don't miss any meals."

Maxine Lanman of Highland finished second and Solomohn Ennis of Charleston, came in third.

Chris Karr of Seymour won the hog-calling contest. He employed a process he calls GPS — for "Good Pig Signal."

He was taking part in his 23rd hog-calling contest. He was a hog farmer until 2002 and his family has shown livestock at the state fair for three generations.

Stan Chmeleck of Chicago was second. John Klyczek of Chicago Heights finished third.
