LC Seniors Attend Leadership Retreat
LOWELL -- In August, 33 seniors at Lowell Catholic took part in LC’s annual three-day Senior Leadership Institute Retreat.
This year’s retreat, held at Prindle Pond Conference Center in Charlton, prepared the students for their new leadership role as seniors on campus this fall.
Campus Ministry leader Mark Friedrich coordinated the event and included exercises that facilitated bonding, self-discovery and growing together as a class. Outdoor adventures, such as exploring the pond and participating in ropes-course activities, helped to engage the students while teaching vital leadership skills.
Students involved in the retreat will play key roles in welcoming the freshman class to campus, assisting with the freshman and middle-school retreats, and serving in leadership roles throughout the year.
“This leadership institute was designed to prepare our students to take on a more active leadership role during the course of the school year,” Friedrich said. “For many of our students, this retreat required them to step out of their comfort zone and into the role of a true peer leader.”
