Rock Valley girls golf: Jefferson takes another meet; LL’s Fenner medals
BELOIT — Jefferson topped the field by three strokes and Maddison Fenner of Lakeside Lutheran took medalist honors by one during Monday’s Rock Valley girls golf meet host by Beloit Turner.
With the win, the Eagles lead Edgerton by four points in the overall standings after posting a total of 182. Fenner shot a 42 that edged out teammate Maya Heckmann and Jefferson’sHailey Milbrath for the top round of the day.
Jefferson also got a 47 from Megan Gleisner and a 48 from Courtney Draeger. Gleisner’s round was seventh overall and Draeger tied for eighth but Milbrath topped her career best by four shots.
“A really big win tonight to keep the momentum rolling in a very big week for us,” Jefferson coach Jeff Schmidt said. “Hailey was the difference tonight firing a career-low 43.
“She’s worked so hard this summer and fall and it’s really paying off. Edgerton is playing solid right now so we need to keep it going.”
Lakeside Lutheran also got scores from Grace Thomas (53) and Rebecca Lang (57).
Both teams head to Edgerton Tuesday.
