Permian Basin Area Foundation awards $1.3 million
The Permian Basin Area Foundation granted $1.314 million to nonprofit organizations in West Texas including several Odessa organizations including the Permian Playhouse and Odessa Christian School.
During its fall grant cycle, the PBAF announced the grants during its news conference held Tuesday at the Junior League of Midland.
The Foundation includes more than 300 permanent funds serving more than 20 counties in West Texas. There were 24 nonprofit organizations that received during its fall grant cycle.
PBAF awards grant semi-annually following reviewed applications in the spring and fall. Spring grant pre-applications are due on April 1, 2019.
The $1.314 million included the amount of $70,000 from the Midland Housing Trust. The three grants were given to Christmas in Action Midland, Midland Community Development Corporation and Midland Habitat for Humanity. The purpose is to promote safe, clean and affordable housing opportunities and support housing resources for low income and disadvantaged individuals residing in Midland County.
