HARVEY WEINSTEIN - VIDEO
NEW YORK (AP) — There is a video of Harvey Weinstein interacting with a woman who has accused the disgraced movie mogul of rape. In the clip, shown on Sky News, Weinstein is seen boldly propositioning the woman, who was trying to demonstrate video technology at his New York City office in 2011. In the video, Weinstein is seen rejecting a handshake from Melissa Thompson, instead hugging her and rubbing her back. At one point he says to Thompson: “Let me have a little part of you. Can you give it to me?” After Weinstein quickly agrees to use the technology, Thompson says Weinstein put his hand up her dress. Weinstein’s lawyer Benjamin Brafman says the video shows nothing more than what the attorney calls “casual, if not awkward, flirting from both parties.”

COMEDIAN’S COMMENTS COST HIM “TONIGHT SHOW” APPEARANCE
NEW YORK (AP) — Norm Macdonald is getting some attention as he prepares to launch a new talk show tomorrow. But it isn’t the kind of positive buzz he was looking for. The comedian has apologized for his comments about the #MeToo movement and two fellow comedians, Louis C.K. and Roseanne Barr. MacDonald, a former “Saturday Night Live” cast member, told The Hollywood Reporter he’s happy #MeToo has “slowed down a little bit.” As for Barr and C.K., Macdonald says in the past, people used to get second chances — but now “there is no forgiveness.” NBC canceled MacDonald’s appearance on “The Tonight Show” two nights ago — a move it says was done “out of sensitivity to our audience.”

“60 MINUTES” CHIEF FIRED
NEW YORK (AP) — Add one more to the growing list of media figures who have lost jobs as a result of sexual misbehavior at the workplace. CBS News has fired “60 Minutes” top executive Jeff Fager, who is under investigation over reports he groped women at parties and tolerated an abusive workplace. A CBS official says Fager’s firing isn’t “directly related” to the groping claims. Rather, a CBS News reporter working on a story about Fager says he texted her urging her to “be careful.” Fager is the third big name at CBS to lose his job in the past year over sexual misconduct claims. News anchor Charlie Rose was fired last November and on Sunday, CEO Les Moonves was given his walking papers.
CBS AFTER MOONVES
NEW YORK (AP) — He’s been as much a part of the CBS landscape as the network’s iconic “eye.” But while the logo remains, Les Moonves is gone and now people are wondering what will become of CBS. Moonves has been with the company since 1995, when he became head of the network’s entertainment branch. CBS has been America’s most-watched TV network the past 10 seasons in a row and 15 of the past 16. Now many industry insiders say the company is in a fix similar to that of Fox News Channel when Roger Ailes left in 2016 under a sexual misconduct scandal. In both cases, a creative enterprise that had been dominated by one person was suddenly left to fend for itself.
NEW YORK (AP) — So far so good when it comes to sales of Bob Woodward’s book “Fear.” The exposé of President Trump and his administration has already sold more than 750,000 copies since hitting the market Tuesday. That puts it within easy reach of being a million seller — and the book is expected to be one of the quickest non-fiction titles to reach that plateau. Sales totals include printed copies, e-books and an audio edition.
ERIC TRUMP COMMENTS ON “FEAR” SPARK CONTROVERSY
NEW YORK (AP) — One of President Donald Trump’s sons is drawing criticism for his choice of words in denouncing the newest book about his dad’s administration. Eric Trump was on “Fox & Friends” yesterday when he was asked about “Fear.” Speaking about efforts to promote the book on CNN, Eric Trump said — quoting here — “It’ll mean you sell three extra books, you make three extra shekels.” The reference to “shekels” has been criticized by some as having anti-Semitic overtones. The author, Bob Woodward, is not Jewish.
STORMY DANIELS TO WRITE A BOOK
WASHINGTON (AP) — Stormy Daniels says “there’s a lot” she has to say. And she will be telling it — in a new book. The porn star who says she had an affair with President Donald Trump is working on a memoir titled “Full Disclosure.” She announced the project on ABC’s “The View” yesterday. The book is due out Oct. 2 — and Daniels says it will tell about her life and her legal standoff with Trump.

PUSSY RIOT MEMBER REPORTED NEAR DEATH
MOSCOW (AP) — A member of the Russian punk protest group Pussy Riot has been hospitalized in grave condition for what could be a possible poisoning. News reports say Pyotr Verzilov has been under emergency care in a toxicology unit of a Moscow hospital the past two days — an indication he may have been poisoned. Verzilov’s symptoms include losing his eyesight and ability to speak. Verzilov was one of four Pussy Riot members who got 15-day jail sentences for running on the field during July’s World Cup final match. The group says it was protesting police excesses in Russia.
