INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Tamika Catchings had 18 points and a season-high seven assists to lead the Indiana Fever past the Sacramento Monarchs 63-50 on Wednesday night.

Catchings also had five steals as the Monarchs committed a season-high 20 turnovers with guard Ticha Penicheiro hampered by a bruised left hand.

The injury kept Penicheiro out of the starting lineup for the first time in three seasons. She played only 20 minutes, failed to score and had a season-low two assists with two turnovers.

Indiana never trailed with Deanna Jackson scoring 10 points and reserve Kristen Rasmussen contributing 11 points.

Yolanda Griffith led the Monarchs with 17 points and 13 rebounds, the 70th double-double in her six-season career. DeMya Walker added 11 points for Sacramento, which fell to a league-worst 2-6.

The 50 points by Sacramento were the fewest allowed by Indiana this season, and the Monarchs' shooting percentage of 35.1 percent was the lowest by an Indiana opponent this year.
