Diana’s Apartment Draws No Buyers
LONDON (AP) _ Princess Diana’s apartment from before her marriage to Prince Charles has failed to attract a buyer after three months on the market.
Hundreds have toured the three-bedroom apartment in the expensive Knightsbridge area of west London, where Diana lived until the night before her engagement was announced.
But no buyers for the flat have come forward, said Jonathan Blaksley of real estate agent John Taylor.
The asking price for the property, which was an 18th birthday present from Diana’s parents in July 1979, is 450,000 pounds ($738,000) _ more than eight times what her family originally paid.
Diana, divorced in 1996 and killed in a car crash nearly a year ago, once said her happiest days were spent in the apartment. Describing it in Andrew Morton’s book ``Diana, Her True Story,″ the princess said: ``I laughed my head off there.″
