Therapy dogs provide comfort in Squirrel Hill following deadly shooting

November 18, 2018

Therapy dogs from Pittsburgh and Youngstown, Ohio, arrived Sunday morning in Squirrel Hill as the community tried to grapple with a mass shooting that left 11 people dead.

The Go Team, a group of therapy dogs, showed up at the corner of Murray and Wilkins avenues with 13 dogs, some big and some small.

“We’re just here to support the community,” said Lisa Pierce, a member of The Go Team from Brentwood. “Sometimes just petting a dog helps.”

The dogs included Copper, a bloodhound; Sienna, a mini American shepherd; Milo, an American cocker spaniel, and LucyLu, a golden doodle.
