Teen hit by train on Richmond bridge runs away with friends
A train heading west through Richmond came to a halt Friday afternoon after hitting a possible teen on the tracks, according to authorities.
The alleged trespasser appeared to be with two friends when he may have been hit around 4:45 p.m. on the Brazos River bridge, Union Pacific spokesman Jeff DeGraff said.
The crew stepped off the train just in time to see the trio of bolt in a vehicle parked on the eastern side of the bridge, DeGraff said. The three males are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.
First responders at the scene found a blood trail believed to be from the injured individual, KHOU-TV reported.
DeGraff said Union Pacific and Richmond police are checking local hospital for matching injuries.
No trespassing signs are posted to the bridge, he added.
