Mutilated dog found near trail in Lacey

    October 8, 2018

LACEY, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say a mutilated dog was found near a trail in Lacey.

KOMO-TV reports investigators initially responded to the scene at about 6:45 p.m. Friday after receiving calls about the dog from people walking along the trail.

Lt. Tim Rudloff of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says the dog had been skinned and its tail had been cut off.

Rudloff says a detective will be assigned to the case.

Rudloff says there’s no known connection so far between this case and the mutilation of more than a dozen cats earlier this year in the county.

A $20,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in that case.
