LOUISVILLE, Ky. _ In Kentucky political circles, Beshear vs. Bevin has become shorthand for the bitter feud between the state’s governor and attorney general over legal issues with sweeping implications for the future. The drama between Republican Gov. Matt Bevin and Democratic Attorney General Andy Beshear has been spiced by subplots — some involving Beshear’s family — and now Kentucky’s voters will get a chance to take sides at the ballot box on a rivalry that has clearly gotten personal. HIGHWAY SINKHOLE-LANES CLOSED, from CHARLESTOWN, Ind. _ State transportation officials say a sinkhole that opened up overnight on a southern Indiana highway has forced the closure of a portion of that freeway.

BALTIMORE POLICE-NEW HIRES, from BALTIMORE _ The police department of Baltimore, Maryland, has hired new leaders for its operations and public integrity bureaus.

PARKS-SWIMMING, from FRANKFORT, Ky. _ With temperatures climbing and a holiday weekend coming up, many swimming pools and beaches at Kentucky State Parks are opening.

MURDER-FOR-HIRE, from BOWLING GREEN, Ky. _ A Kentucky man accused in a murder-for-hire plot is awaiting extradition in the Philippines, where he was arrested on charges including complicity to murder.
