LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Supermodel Kathy Ireland is sporting a green thumb in her latest endeavor to become a best friend to working mothers.

Ireland, who has branched out to the lifestyle design business, has teamed with landscape artist Nicholas Walker to create Jardin du Jour, which is French for Garden of the Day.

The new brand is designed to help everyday gardeners bring luxury and style to their outdoor work without the sticker shock.

``Our mission at Kathy Ireland Worldwide is to provide solutions for families, especially busy moms,'' Ireland said Tuesday. ``I developed my home furnishings collection because I saw a need for furniture and accessories that were comfortable, luxurious and solution-oriented for families.

``I realized that these same concepts were also needed in the garden area. So much of our family time is spent in our outdoor spaces.''

The Discovery Channel's home program, ``The Christopher Lowell Show,'' has asked Ireland and Walker to create the interior and exterior sets.

Jardin du Jour debuted Wednesday at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show.
