Culinary School to serve lunch in New Milford for National Eat Outside Day
The Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut is offering a picnic lunch so people can celebrate National Eat Outside Day on Friday.
The school, which is a nonprofit that offers job training and placement in the food industry, will serve the lunch from noon to 1 p.m. on the Green. People are encouraged stay and eat outside, but the lunches will be bagged so they can also be taken to go.
Lunches cost $15 and include a sandwich, apple, chips, cookie and a bottle of water. The sandwich options include pork roast and broccoli rabe on ciabatta; grilled chicken with mozzarella, tomato and basil sandwich; and roasted vegetables and hummus wrap.
Participants should order their lunches online through the school’s website by 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The 95.1FM radio station’s van and road crew will be there and have giveaways.
