We do plumbing for new construction, remodels, service, water heaters, boiler, etc.

What’s your title?

Owner, worker and everything else.

What drove you to launch your own business?

I always wanted to have my own business, and I was at a point in my life where I could make it happen.

How many hours do you typically work in a week?

40-plus

How many employees? Just me

When did you start your business? April 2018

If you left another job to start this business, what was it?

I carried the plumbing license at a heating and air conditioning shop the past five years and worked at three other plumbing shops prior.

Do you work elsewhere in addition to the time you put in at your business?

No, all my time is committed to McGee Plumbing.

What sacrifices did you make to launch this business and to keep it running?

Time with my family.

What is the best thing about owning a business?

Being my own boss and making customers happy.

What is the hardest thing about owning a business?

Working long hours alone can get tiring.

What’s your hope for your business in the next year?

I’d like to get more established and have enough work to eventually hire an employee.

What inspires you to keep doing it?

I want to be able to provide for my family, and I like seeing a project completed.

Knowing what you know now, would you do anything different?

I would have started my business a lot earlier.
