Fiber farms will spin their own yarns
DENNISON, Minn. — Fiber farms in southern Minnesota are taking part in a weekend of free, self-guided tours.
The farms are showcasing their diverse assortment of livestock, including yaks, alpaca, sheep and other farm animals.
Farms will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29 and Sept. 30.
Go to www.northstarfarmtour.com for details about each farm’s available products and the schedule for demonstrations, hands-on activities, visiting shepherds, authors and artisans, and available food, facilities and products. The website will be updated with offerings of natural raw and processed animal and plant fibers, artisan handcrafts, meats, honey, and other farm and art products that will be for sale.
