Thanksgiving vs Christmas: The big debate
Thanksgiving is almost here!
Sometimes it’s easy to lose focus on Thanksgiving when we have already had Halloween and Christmas is on its way.
There’s an ever-growing debate on playing Christmas music before Thanksgiving. One reason why this is is because some believe Thanksgiving does not get enough attention on its own.
With the holiday seasons and so much planning, it’s easy to sweep Thanksgiving under the rug. Nonetheless, as a society, we do pay a lot of attention to Thanksgiving, just maybe not for the right reasons.
Along with Thanksgiving there comes Black Friday, cooking the perfect turkey, managing the entire family, and so much more. It’s easy to forget to remember what you’re thankful for when Amazon is offering free shipping on a product you must have.
It’s easy to focus on what you don’t have, instead of what you do have, and that certainly doesn’t change during the holiday season.
So, even though it seem like a cliche, it really does make a difference when you focus on what’s important on Thanksgiving.
The entire purpose of Thanksgiving each time it was celebrated in history was to give thanks to God and have a grateful attitude towards all your blessings.
So, remember to focus on Thanksgiving for what it is, but don’t worry, you can still go Black Friday shopping and celebrate some other holiday traditions.
