Cory Gardner to vote for both shutdown bills in Senate: Report
Sen. Cory Gardner of Colorado will break with fellow Republicans to vote to reopen the government without border wall money, according to the Denver Post.
Mr. Gardner’s spokesman told the Denver Post that the senator plans to vote for a “clean” funding bill without any border security funding attached.
Meaning Mr. Gardner will cross party lines to support the Democratic bill to pass a stop-gap bill to fund the government until Feb. 8, giving time for a longer negotiation.
The spokesman also said Mr. Gardner will vote for the Republican bill that implements President Trump’s proposal.
Both bills are up for a vote in the Senate on Thursday.
