Tulsa Football Coach’s Contract Extended
TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Tulsa football coach Steve Kragthorpe signed a one-year contract extension Friday that ties him to the university through 2008.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Kragthorpe was the Western Athletic Conference coach of the year last season after leading Tulsa to an 8-5 record and a berth in the Humanitarian Bowl in his first year on the job. The Golden Hurricane had won just one game in each of the two seasons before Kragthorpe’s arrival.
It was their first appearance in a bowl game since 1991, also their last winning season.
The 38-year-old Kragthorpe was an assistant with the Buffalo Bills before being hired by Tulsa.
