Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles heads to locker room with chest injury
Nick Foles tied the NFL record recently set by Los Angeles Chargers QB Philip Rivers by completing 25 consecutive passes in Washington as the Philadelpia Eagles built a 17-0 lead in a must-win game to keep their wild-card dreams alive.
But Foles then suffered a chest injury early in the fourth quarter and was escorted to the Eagles locker room, with Nate Sudfeld taking over the reins.
Sudfeld’s first pass attempt? A 22-yard touchdown to Nelson Agholor to extend the Eagles’ lead to 24-0. More importantly, the Chicago Bears lead the Minnesota Vikings 19-0 midway through the fourth quarter. An Eagles win paired with a Vikings loss would clinch the final wild card for the defending Super Bowl champions.
But the defending Super Bowl champs currently are down to a reserve quarteback with a potential playoff run ahead. Where have we heard this before?
