LOGAN, Utah (AP) _ Marcus Saxon scored 19 and Kevin Rice added 16 as Utah State routed Southern Oregon, 111-61, on Saturday.

Saxon also added six rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Eight Aggies reached double digits in scoring, including four reserves, as USU’s starters sat out much of the second half.

Utah State (3-1) shot 68 percent from the field, while holding Southern Oregon (1-3) to just 39 percent shooting.

The Aggies also dominated the boards, outrebounding Southern Oregon 41-24. Rice and backup center Brandon Birch led the Aggies with seven rebounds each.

Southern Oregon was led in scoring by reserves Tom Chipps, with 14 points, and Clason Whitney’s 12 points. Forward Amos Baker led the Raiders with six rebounds.

Utah State capitalized on 20 Raider turnovers to set up several fast-break baskets.

Southern Oregon’s only lead came when they scored on their opening possession. Utah State responded with a 16-4 run that gave them a lead they never gave up as they coasted to a 53-25 halftime lead.
