DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) _ Jason Daisy scored 22 points and Darian DeVries added 18 as Northern Iowa beat Drake 83-66 Saturday in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Drake (12-13 overall, 8-9 MVC) has lost seven of its last nine.

The Panthers (14-11, 8-9) had opened a 22-14 lead with 10:25 left in the first half when Drake pulled ahead with a 15-3 run. B.J. Windhorst led the Bulldogs, hitting four 3-pointers and capping the run with a layup with 4:47 left in the half.

Drake’s 29-25 lead proved to be short-lived as the Panthers outscored the Bulldogs 15-6 the remainder of the half and led 40-36 at halftime.

But UNI put the game away for good with a 13-2 second-half run, capped by Daisy’s layup with 12:32 left to play.

Northern Iowa’s biggest lead came with 44 seconds to play, when the Panthers went up 82-62 on Brian Carpenter’s two free throws.

Windhorst scored 14 points before he and Northern Iowa’s Sean Hawkins were ejected for flagrant fouls with 7:35 left to play. They were kicked out for a confrontation after a collision away from the ball.

Lynnrick Rogers led the Bulldogs with 16 points and Ken Maxey added 14 and pulled down 12 rebounds.
