Presley Signs Recording Contract
LOS ANGELES (AP) _ OK, don’t be cruel.
Lisa Marie Presley, 30, signed an exclusive recording contract with Java Records, a joint venture between Capitol Records and Grammy-winning producer Glen Ballard, the companies announced Thursday.
``Lisa Marie and I met through a mutual friend ... and I was struck by her intelligence, her talent and her passion for music,″ Ballard said.
Asked if Miss Presley would be a rock ‘n’ roller like her father, her publicist Paul Bloch said he didn’t know what kind of music she would be doing.
Capitol Records spokeswoman Judi Kerr was also in the dark. ``I have no idea. I am as intrigued as anybody else,″ she said.
There was no information on a release date for her debut recording.
