Three Accused of Giving Beer to Teens Killed in Crash
DENMARK, N.Y. (AP) _ Three young men have been charged with providing beer to three teen-agers who were killed while racing each other along a country road.
Thomas Spaulding, 23, Jeff Jordal, 18, and Trevor O’Dell, 18, each were charged with one count of unlawfully dealing with a child, a misdemeanor. They were arrested Sunday.
Spaulding is accused of buying four cases of beer from a store in nearby Copenhagen and giving it to O’Dell and Jordal, who took it to a campsite where the teens were staying.
Killed in the crash Friday night were Corey Carroll, 18, Tom Carroll, 16, and Daniel Kent, 19, all of Nescopeck, Pa. Jasin Carroll, 19, remained in guarded condition at a Watertown hospital Tuesday.
Sheriff’s deputies said the teens were racing each other in two all-terrain vehicles and on a motorcycle when they collided on a dark country road in Denmark, 60 miles north of Utica.
