Police investigate fatal shooting outside Fargo McDonald’s

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Fargo police are looking for a suspect in a fatal shooting in a McDonald’s parking lot.

Deputy Police Chief Joe Anderson tells KFGO-AM the victim was sitting on the curb outside the McDonald’s near downtown Fargo when an SUV pulled into the parking lot around 5:20 a.m. Sunday. The diver fired a handgun at the victim, hitting him several times. The victim got up and ran about 100 feet before collapsing. He died at the scene.

The vehicle, a dark blue or black early 2000s Chevy Trailblazer, drove off. The shooter was the only person in the SUV.

Police don’t know if the victim was targeted or if the shooting was random. The name and age of the victim have not been released.
