Vermont family displaced by fire that killed 4 dogs
WILMINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont family has been displaced by a fire at their Wilmington home that killed four of their five pet dogs.
There were no human injuries in the Saturday fire on Shearer Hill Road.
Firefighters aren’t sure what caused the fire in the home of Eric Hescock, his wife and three children.
Hescock’s brother John Hescock is a Wilmington firefighter who responded to the fire.
While Fire Chief Scott Moore wasn’t sure what caused the fire, he told the Brattleboro Reformer people need to be careful about heating frozen pipes and to remember to unplug electric heaters.
