MARIJUANA SEIZED _ The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers have seized more than 240 pounds of marijuana in separate traffic stops.
DAWSON COUNTY SLAYING _ A man charged with murder in south-central Nebraska’s Dawson County has taken a plea deal.

FATAL HIT-AND-RUN _ A 42-year-old man has been given five years in prison for a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist in Omaha.
SCOTTSBLUFF HOUSE FIRE _ Authorities say a woman was injured and 26 cats were killed in fire at the Scottsbluff home where she lives with her husband.

BKC--WICHITA ST-ALLEN _ The NCAA denied an appeal by Wichita State’s Teddy Allen to play immediately after transferring from West Virginia on Friday, forcing the sophomore guard to sit out a redshirt season.
