Northeast’s Roeber named Nebraska’s top community college educator

NORFOLK - A Northeast Community College faculty member was put in the spotlight at the Nebraska Community College Association’s Annual Conference.

Mike Roeber, Northeast’s agriculture and livestock judging instructor was selected as Nebraska’s top community college educator.

Roeber said he was humbled to receive the award and is glad that all his hard work pays off.

He said his livestock judging team travels to many contest throughout the country which takes a lot of time and effort.

“As far as our big contests, we go to Kansas City and Louisville in the fall and then Denver and Houston in the spring. We also have small contests that we go to throughout the year in Grand Island, Hutchinson Kansas, Des Moines Iowa, Kearney, and we might go to one in Oklahoma before Christmas.”

Vice President of Educational Services, Lyle Kathol said year-after-year, his students credit him for his dedication, knowledge, and commitment.
