Huntington Dance Theatre hosts annual Nutcracker Sweets Tea Party
HUNTINGTON - Children of all ages had visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads at the Huntington Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker Sweets Tea Party at Central Christian Church on 5th Avenue in downtown Huntington on Saturday.
The party featured Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and her friends such as Santa. The event included sweet treats and tea, the opportunity to take photos with the Sugar Plum Fairy, a chance to meet some of the dancers from “The Nutcracker” and a short ballet class led by the Sugar Plum Fairy herself.
Many cast members from “The Nutcracker” were also there to mingle and take pictures with tea party guests.
This year’s “Nutcracker” performance will be held at the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards Playhouse at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 8, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
A preshow gala will be held one hour before each performance in the playhouse lobby, and admission is included in the performance ticket price. Tickets can be purchased through the Joan C. Edwards Playhouse Box Office or through Ticketmaster.com.
