CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have handed the Washington Capitals a season-high fifth consecutive loss. Jonathan Toews (tayvz) had three goals and two assists and Patrick Kane added two goals and two assists on the way to an 8-5 victory. Brandon Saad and Alex DeBrincat also scored and Dylan Strome added an empty-netter as last-place Chicago stopped its own five-game slide. Collin Delia made 34 saves.
BOSTON (AP) — No. 11 Florida State has lost its third straight game, falling to Boston College 87-82. Ky Bowman scored 37 points for Boston College and Jordan Chatman gave the Eagles the lead for good by hitting three straight 3-pointers during a 21-4 run to start the second half.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Sam Hauser scored 25 points, Markus Howard added 24 points and nine rebounds as No. 15 Marquette rallied past Providence 79-68. Marquette improved to 13-0 at home after honoring former star Dwyane Wade with a celebration that included a halftime tribute.
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Freshman Joe Wieskamp matched a career high with 24 points as No. 23 Iowa routed Illinois 95-71 for its fifth straight victory. Isaiah Moss scored a season-high 21 points and Luka Garza added 20 for the Hawkeyes. They hit 12 of their first 14 3-point attempts and 15 overall to blow past the young but talented Fighting Illini. Ayo Dosunmu scored 15 points for Illinois.
GAINESVILE, Fla. (AP) — Florida forward Keith Stone will have season-ending surgery after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The Gators announced the news a day after their 62-52 victory at Georgia, where Stone landed awkwardly on his left leg while trying to block a shot. The 6-foot-8 junior from Deerfield Beach averaged 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds in 17 games this season, including 13 starts.
