Vernal man arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing minor in Lehi
A Vernal man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexually abusing a minor multiple times.
Terry Lynn Ewell, 44, was arrested by the Lehi Police Department after a young girl told a caseworker with the Department of Child and Family Services that Ewell had inappropriately touched her in a sexual manner, the police report said. The girl also told the caseworker that Ewell had her touch him in an inappropriate, sexual manner.
Ewell was later interviewed by police in Vernal. According to the police report, Ewell “admitted and confessed to touching the victim” inappropriately three times and having her inappropriately touch him.
Ewell was booked into the Utah County Jail on suspicion of three counts of sexual abuse of a minor, all second-degree felonies.
Fourth District Court Judge Thomas Low found probable cause existed for the arrest, according to court documents, and set Ewell’s bail at $30,000 cash.
