Orchids and Onions: Tuesday, November 13, 2018

November 13, 2018

Editor’s note: An item in Saturday’s Orchids & Onions column contained inaccurate information. Havasu Furniture and Bedding’s delivery fee includes free pickup and redelivery if service is needed on an item. If a customer chooses to pick up the item and opts out of the delivery fee, it is their responsibility to bring it to the facility for repair.

Another beautiful day in Havasu...

Onions to owners who leave dogs off leash when exiting the fenced dog area at Avalon Park. I have been threatened more than once by a loose dog as I walked the park. Last I checked, the park is also for human use. Please be more considerate.

Onions to people who can’t read driving arrows in shopping centers. I almost got clobbered a wrong way driver in the Wal-Mart parking lot as I was backing out.

Orchids to Indian Spice and Bar. Definitely an adventure in a different cuisine. I recommend the lunch buffet 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to check out the many dishes. Also try the Taj Mahal beer, it’s a must for beer people.

Onions to snowbird drivers, and some locals. If you’re not speeding to the point of tailgating me, then you’re so slow baby ducks could safely cross the street in front of you. If you can’t read speed signs, call a shuttle.

Onions to the vehicle storage on Burgundy Drive, does the city have code enforcement?

Orchids to Desert Thunder Motorcycle Shop. Very professional with a down home bunch of folks that love motorcycles along with safety and reliability. Thanks guys, you do the best.

Orchids to Brett at Whiz Kid Computers! Thank you for a great job on my laptop. Your customer service is fantastic! TM

Onions on telling workers he got the job because of prior manager’s experience. I accidentally came across the man’s resume. He was “Tilt-O-Whirl” operator and not manager of the whole carnival like you said. You will regret this decision!

Orchids to LHC for honoring Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11th. God doesn’t ask us to choose between attending church and going the Veteran’s Day Ceremony. He gives us free will. “In God We Trust”, not man. I know God will be with me at the Veteran’s ceremony, saluting those who gave us the freedom to do so.

Onions to people responsible for dumping full cardboard containers all summer and just a few days ago full of chicken wings from a grocery store.
