HPD investigating after man dropped off at ER with gunshot wound

HUNTINGTON — The Huntington Police Department is investigating a shooting after a man was dropped off at an area hospital Monday afternoon with a gunshot wound.

According to Huntington Police Chief Hank Dial, Alvin Antonio Nevels, 39, was dropped off at the Cabell Huntington Hospital emergency room by an unknown person just after 1 p.m. Monday. Nevels was shot in the chest, but was able to talk to investigators. As of 1:30 p.m. Monday, his injuries appeared to be non-life threatening, Dial said.

Dial said police have so far been unable to confirm where the shooting took place.
