No. 4 Mississippi 60, Mississippi St. 50

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) _ Kim Gilchrist and Clara Jackson each scored 15 points as No. 4 Mississippi defeated Mississippi State 60-50 Wednesday night, clinching at least a tie for the Southeastern Conference regular-season title.

Jackson also added 12 rebounds for Ole Miss (25-1, 10-0 in the SEC), which has won 22 straight games. The Lady Rebels, who had never won an SEC title, can claim the championship outright with a victory Saturday against No. 11 Vanderbilt.

Mississippi State (15-10, 4-6) was hampered by 21 fouls in the game, and Ole Miss took advantage by hitting 23 of 28 free throws (82 percent). The Lady Bulldogs had only eight free throws.

The lead changed hands seven times before Ole Miss took a 28-27 halftime lead. Jackson later capped a 6-0 that pushed the Lady Rebels in front 40-33 with 11:15 left.

State, led by Natasha Johnson’s 21 points, got no closer than six points after that. Charetta Robinson added 15 points MSU.

Charlotte Banks added 13 points for Ole Miss and Jackie Martin 11.
