Bridgeport woman arrested on drug charges in Orange

ORANGE — A traffic stop led to an arrest on drug charges for a Bridgeport woman late last week.

According to the Orange Police Department, about 11 p.m. Thursday, officers performing a motor vehicle stop on the Boston Post Road came into contact with Natalie Batista, 24 of Bridgeport. It was discovered that she was in possession of an illegal controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Subsequently, she was taken into custody and charged. While being processed, officers discovered that she also had an active warrant out of the Town of Stratford for second-degree failure to appear. She was charged for same.

Batista posted two $500 surety bonds and is scheduled to appear March 14 at the Derby Courthouse for the illegal possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She received a court date of March 13 at the Bridgeport Superior Court for the active warrant regarding a second-degree failure to appear.
