Lieutenant governor-elect announces staff appointments
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Lt. Gov.-elect Susan Bysiewicz (BY’-suh-wits) has announced key members of her staff as she prepares to take office next week.
Bysiewicz said Monday that veteran state Senate aide Adam Joseph will serve as her chief of staff. Joseph has been the spokesman for Democratic Senate President Pro Tem Martin Looney since 2011.
The Democratic lieutenant governor-elect said her general counsel will be Cherie Phoenix-Sharpe, who has been New Haven’s deputy corporation counsel since 2014.
Bysiewicz said her campaign manager, Samuel Carmody, will oversee legislative and government relations on behalf of her office.
Jimmy Tickey will serve as senior adviser for economic and community development, and Juliemar Ortiz will be her press secretary.
Bysiewicz and Gov.-elect Ned Lamont take office on Jan. 9.
