Police: Man stole car, used it in gas station robbery
WARWICK, R.I. (AP) — Police have arrested a man they say stole a car from one gas station and then drove it to another gas station that he then robbed.
Warwick police say a car that was left unattended with the keys inside while the owner paid for gas was stolen from the Seasons Corner Market at about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
While investigating the auto theft, additional officers were dispatched to Valero Gas for a robbery in progress. The suspect left in a small black sedan after taking an undetermined amount of cash.
Police say the stolen car was then abandoned and 21-year-old Nathan Fay arrested nearby. He’s charged with second-degree robbery and operating a vehicle without consent of the owner. It’s not clear if he has a lawyer.
