Woman pleads guilty to role in fatal shooting in 2017
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts woman has been sentenced to up to seven years in state prison for her role in a fatal 2017 shooting in Chicopee.
Sorheyddi Colondres pleaded guilty Monday to misleading police and attempting to cover up the slaying of 44-year-old Kevin Blanton in February 2017.
The Republican reports that Michael Brawner, who was the 35-year-old Colondres’ fiancé at the time of the shooting, is charged with murder in Blanton’s death. He has pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors say after Brawner killed Blanton, Colondres drove Brawner to their Springfield home.
Blanton was Colondres’ former boyfriend and the father of her daughter.
Her attorney says she is “unbelievably contrite” for her role in Blanton’s death.
