Irish pub taking over Joe’s Crab Shack space at Alamo Quarry Market in San Antonio
It’s out with the Joe’s and in with the Mo’s at the Alamo Quarry Market.
The former Joe’s Crab Shack location at 255 E. Basse Road is being converted into San Antonio’s first Mo’s Irish Pub. Mo’s is now hiring at the location, which is undergoing a renovation process that has so far included a complete Irish green paint job of the building’s exterior.
When contacted by the Express-News, a staff member said Mo’s is shooting for a Feb. 11 opening date.
Mo’s features a large menu of scratch-made food that focuses on Irish-American influences. On the appetizer menu, look for the Cheeseburger Shalaylee, a plate of wontons stuffed with ground beef and American cheese, fried Wisconsin cheese curds and a house spinach dip.
The sandwich menu includes a jalapeño grilled cheese and a corned beef breakfast boxty. And for heartier fare, look for the fish and chips and Mo’s Shepherd’s Pie.
True to it’s pub name, Mo’s also carries a large line of craft, domestic and imported beers and will feature regular live entertainment.
Mo’s Irish Pub first opened in 2003 in downtown Milwaukee and is part of the Mo’s Restaurants group. It now operates seven properties throughout Texas and Wisconsin.
