Waterfront venue breaks ground

August 26, 2018

A ceremonial ground breaking for the construction of The Lake House, a two-story, waterfront event venue located between the S.S. Badger dock and Harbor View Marina in Ludington, was held Friday morning as the carferry departed.

The Lake House will have more than 5,800 square feet of open space to accommodate 325 guests with dining tables. The venue will have an outdoor patio and balcony to take advantage of its lakeside location and views of Ludington’s pier, lighthouse, sunsets and the S.S. Badger departing and arriving. The Lake House will be able to host many large events, but it will be especially designed for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

With gold-painted shovels and hard hats, the property owners, husband and wife Jeff and Jean White, led the ceremony, joined by Ludington city leaders and representatives from Shelby State Bank and Gerber Construction Co. About 30 people attended.

“We’re very excited to be building The Lake House,” Jeff said.
