Boys hockey | JM shut down by South St. Paul
SOUTH ST. PAUL – Rochester John Marshall was in the game through two periods, but South St. Paul pulled away with two third-period goals as it beat the Rockets 4-1 in a non-conference boys hockey game on Saturday.
Drew Lingen scored the Rockets’ lone goal at the 9:32 mark of the first period, assisted by Frederick Soegaard and Connor Vlasaty. That goal tied the score 1-1, but JM couldn’t beat SSP goalie Brady Gallahue (21 saves) again.
Will Colaiano made 19 saves for JM, which drops to 2-4-1 overall with the loss.
The Rockets are back in action at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against New Richmond (Wis.) in the opening round of the Kiwanis Festival at Graham Arena I.
