Weather service: Strong, severe storms possible today
There is a chance for thunderstorms today into tonight in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, and a few may become strong to severe late this afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said.
Damaging winds to 60 mph will be the primary threat, but isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out, especially across northern Indiana, the weather service said in its outlook.
In an area that includes Mercer County, Ohio, sctattered thunderstorms can be expected today and tonight as a cold front approaches, the weather service said. It said a few severe storms will be possible this evening into the overnight hours.
The primary threat will be damaging wind, although an isolated tornado may also be possible, the weather service said.
