Scranton Resident Accused Of Cutting Man With Large Hunting Knife
SCRANTON — A city resident is accused of slashing another man in the hands and neck with a large hunting knife Tuesday.
Warren Leonard, 43, 826 Capouse Ave. , Room 6, is charged with simple assault and related charges. Police responded to that address about 9:20 p.m. and found Michael Peoples outside bleeding from the hands and neck.
Peoples told police Leonard sprayed a fire extinguisher in his room and threatened him with a golf club earlier in the day. Leonard swung the knife at him and cut him, police said. Officers found the knife in Leonard’s room. A witness told police Leonard attacked Peoples without provocation, according to court documents.
Leonard is held in Lackawanna County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 31.
