KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) _ Steve Jurgensen shot a 5-under-par 67 for a one-stroke victory over Stan Utley in the Nike Tri-Cities Open.

Jurgensen, who earned $27,000, finished play Sunday with a 9-under 207 total on the Meadow Springs Country Club course. Utley closed with a 208.

Jeff Lee (66), Bob Friend (67), Steve Haskins (70) and Perry Parker (72) tied for third at 209.

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) - Former Louisiana Tech star Michael Richardson rushed for 181 yards on 24 carries as the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 41-23 in the CFL on Sunday.

ALACHUA, Fla. (AP) - Jeff Cook birdied the fifth hole of a playoff with Javier Sanchez to win the T.C. Jordan Tour's Heritage Links Classic.

Cook closed with a 2-under-par 70 and Sanchez shot a 69 to finish regulation Sunday with 17-under 271 totals on the Turkey Creek course.

ATLANTA (AP) - Tamara Levinson of Silver Spring, Md., led four United States qualifiers for the Rhythmic World Championships in Spain on Nov. 4-7.

Jessica Davis of Anselmo, Calif.; Brooke Bushnell of San Rafael, Calif.; and Caroline Hunt of Winnetka, Ill., also qualified in Sunday's competition at at Emory University.

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Scooter Tucker broke a tie with a seventh-inning single as the Tucson Toros beat the Portland Beavers 2-1 to take a 3-2 lead in the Pacific Coast League's best-of-7 championship series Sunday night.

TORONTO (AP) - Dennis Meyer, relieved of his head coaching duties Friday when the Toronto Argonauts hired Bob O'Billovich as coach and general manager, will remain with the CFL team as defensive coordinator.

The 42-year-old Meyer, who joined the team as an assistant coach in 1982, was 4-13 since replacing Adam Rita as head coach last season. The Argonauts are 1-9 this season.

''Dennis has always been one of the most effective defensive strategists in the CFL as well as a close friend,'' O'Billovich said Sunday. ''I admire his dedication and loyalty to the club and I feel a lot better knowing he's going to stay around to help us.''

ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) - Carol Semple Thompson, the 1990 champion, shot a 1- under-par 71 to lead qualifiers for the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur.

Thomspson of Sewickley, Pa., finished play Sunday with a 3-under 141 total on the Rochester Golf and Country Club course. Robin Weiss of Palm Beach, Fla., shot a 76 to qualify second with a 152 total.

The 64 qualifiers were scheduled to start match play today.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Former University of Cincinnati quarterback Danny Barrett completed 24 of 34 attempts for 370 yards and two touchdowns as British Columbia routed Hamilton 55-25 in the CFL.

Former Montana receiver Mike Trevathan had eight receptions for 121 yards for the Lions in Saturday night's game.
