2 NFL games...4 bowl games...Shiffrin wins again
UNDATED (AP) — There are two NFL games today, both with playoff implications. The 7-7 Washington Redskins visit 8-6 Tennessee at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, and the 8-6 Baltimore Ravens visit the 11-3 Los Angeles Chargers at night. The Chargers have clinched a playoff berth and are now trying for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Ravens, Redskins and Titans all have hopes of making it to the postseason.
BALTIMORE (AP) — Regardless of how Baltimore finishes the season, coach John Harbaugh will be back next year to finish the final year of his current contract. The team says it’s working on an extension beyond 2019. Harbaugh took over as Baltimore’s coach in 2008 and has taken the team to the playoffs six times, winning the Super Bowl in 2012. But the Ravens didn’t reach the postseason in each of the past three years.
UNDATED (AP) — Four bowl games are on tap today, starting at noon Eastern when Memphis plays Wake Forest in the Birmingham Bowl. Then it’s Houston vs. Army in the Armed Forces Bowl, Buffalo vs. Troy in the Dollar General Bowl and Louisiana Tech vs. Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl.
UNDATED (AP) — Today’s Top 25 men’s basketball schedule features 14 games, with two of them matching ranked teams. No. 1 Kansas visits No. 18 Arizona State and No. 9 North Carolina plays No. 19 Kentucky in Chicago.
