Man charged with attempted murder in bar shooting

August 29, 2018
Allen County prosecutors have charged a man with two counts of attempted murder for allegedly shooting two men last week outside a bar.   Aarron W. Suggs, 29, also is charged with two counts of aggravated battery, possession of a handgun by a felon and criminal recklessness, according to court documents filed Wednesday.   Police say Suggs admitted firing a 9 mm handgun several times in the rear smoking area at The Rock Tavern, 1916 Broadway, around 1:30 a.m. Friday. The shooting occurred after a confrontation between Suggs and one of the victims, a probable cause affidavit alleges.   Both men faced life-threatening injuries, investigators said.   For more on this story, see Thursday’s print edition of The Journal Gazette or return to www.journalgazette.net after 1 a.m. Thursday.   mleblanc@jg.net
