19-year-old Gering man charged, accused of threatening woman with a knife
A 19-year-old Gering man is accused of threatening a woman with a knife during an incident early Saturday morning.
Marcos Carrera has been charged with terroristic threats, a Class IIIA felony; use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, a Class II felony; committing child abuse, a Class IIIA felony; third-degree domestic assault and false reporting, both Class I misdemeanors.
Carrera has been arraigned in Scotts Bluff County Court and a preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 9.
Carrera allegedly awoke a woman as she slept with an infant, demanding a password to a streaming service, and became angry, threatening to kill the woman and grabbing a knife.
The man allegedly threatened to slaughter the woman. He waved a knife at the woman, while holding the baby, and then threw the child on the bed as he left.
Deputies arrested Carrera, who allegedly provided a false identification.
Bond in the case has been set at $100,000.
