Man Said To Kill Self, 3 Others
TELLICO PLAINS, Tenn. (AP) _ A man opened fire in the middle of a trailer park, killing three people and critically wounding a fourth before fatally shooting himself, witnesses said.
Neighbors said Cleo Colvin, 60, had a gun in each hand when he opened fire after coming home Saturday afternoon to find his girlfriend moving out of their home with the help of three men.
Killed were Mary Ann Presley, 41; her friend Garland Charles Stamey, 59; and his relative Ronald Scott Guilliames, 31. Another man, Tommy Stamey, 30, was in critical condition with several gunshot wounds.
Witnesses told The Knoxville News-Sentinel in Monday’s editions that Colvin then went to the mobile home of his best friend and shot himself in the bedroom.
``I know he took these other people’s lives, and that’s a terrible, terrible thing,″ said the friend, Virgil Bayless. ``But he was a good man. He just snapped, that’s all I can figure.″
